Ultimately, The Shadows of War is not simply a documentary about whether individual photographs or videos are true or false. It is about the machinery through which wartime narratives are created.
It asks who supplies the pictures, who provides the captions, who verifies what happened outside the frame, what pressures influence editors and correspondents, and why some stories become permanent symbols while others disappear.
The documentary treats information warfare not as a secondary feature of armed conflict, but as a strategic arena in its own right, capable of affecting public opinion, international policy, perceptions of legitimacy and ultimately the conduct of the war itself.

Pierre Rehov

For more than two decades, Pierre Rehov has investigated the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, terrorism, propaganda and the role of the media in shaping public perception.
His documentaries have taken him from the streets of the Second Intifada to U.S. military bases in Iraq, from the archives of international institutions to the communities caught in the middle of the world's most contested narratives.
In The Shadows of War, he turns the camera on the images themselves.
